No worries, it was in the parking lot of the last industrial outfit before I 91S. The $50 screen protector and cheapie case did their job!! Phone is fine after being runover by trailer lol took it to Verizon, they peeled old protector off and were stunned phone was fine, not a scratch on it! Phew, that apple score almost cost me a butt load
the guy i talked to said cut what you want and leave brush so i didnt try to tidy anything up. Sorry Jason, didnt read your entire post yesterday.
Wish I wasn’t 8 hours south. Zombies like smoked meat so this wood pair nice. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Dang Brad I probably drove right past you today. Was thinking of calling you to see what kind of ruckus you were causing today. Drove up 91 from New Haven to Wallingford to buy a table saw. Wouldnt have been much use on that Apple tho. Many years ago when I was a woodworker I had some large Apple chunks in the basement. Gnarly, Curly stuff. Was supposed to be burnt in the fireplace but some of the bigger chunks I kept just because the grain was so intense. After 3-4 years of tripping over them I decided to try an experiment. Make a wooden box out of solid wood, see what happens. Squared up the biggest chunk of Apple, sliced off a top. Routed the entire inside of the box out with the longest 1/2” flat bottom bit they sell. Routed a little out of the top too. I’d say the box was around 1/4” thick,,,maybe a tad more. Never checked, never twisted. That lid sat on there perfectly for years. Probably still does. I was surprised how such gnarly wood can become stable with enough time to dry.
Glad you were able to get out there Eric! I may bring my saw back from the north country and visit this hoard!
I split what i grabbed . Multiple hits required to half. Pulled out the log blaster. This one wouldnt go after many hits. It has to be the knottiest (is that a word) round ive ever tried to split.
If they guy told me six acres of trees were pushed over, how many trees would that be Firewood Bandit ?
Gonna have to guess as I don't know the exact spacing. My guess is the trees, (Look like M7 rootstock) are 6' on center with 20' between rows, so my WAG is 363 trees/acre. My Tall Spindle are populated at 1,200/acre. Calculate How Many Trees Per Acre
4 loads in total, about a 1/4 cord! Took some finesse even with the hydro. I'm thinking solar kiln for this stuff
I couldn't deal with seeing my beautiful apple wood sit out in the rain and get moldy, so.... Was meant to be, my apple score filled this u-boat perfectly! Now it's got two dehumidifiers blowing on it, and my garage smells very fragrant! Check out these specimens:
Thanks! It sure was a lot of work, but well worth it. I can't believe how heavy this stuff is, I'm thinkin its heavier than green oak!
