Here are a couple pics of our cat, Melody. She loved the fire but sadly, she is no longer with us. DSC01220.JPG DSC01221.JPG

For sure the pets somehow turn into heat magnets.

This is as close as you I can get Hester to the insert and I just started the fire so it wasn’t kicking out any heat. He won’t even stay in the basement when it gets rolling.

She's not that heavy. I think she's actually lost weight. 14lbs last time at the vet. But when she flops, it's 3ft³ of kitty-bits on the floor.

Ollie. She'll lay there until her fur is too hot to touch.

Does it count if they just supervise while you're splitting and stacking the wood?

I wish she liked to cuddle like that. She only tolerates it for a few minutes.

In the early 80's we had a german shorthair that would spend hours laying by the stove, She would even bring wood in the house when we would fill up the indoor box, if she could grab it with her mouth she would drag it in.

We used to have an Irish Setter/Sharpe that loved the fire. Funny looking dog. She would cuddle all day with the cat that was her best friend. One of the other cats would sometimes get on the hearth between the stove and them. Buddy the dog would throw a fit until we moved the cat.
