Doesn’t look like much to you young guys but still a work out for this old fart. Got most of the downed stuff buzzed up.

Found this 488 on the shelf and didn’t even remember buying it. Might be the first time I’ve given it any work. Ran great. I have no idea where the bar came from.

The smaller stuff was in pretty good shape. The bigger moss covered log wasn’t too bad except for the top pieces. Will be fine if I get it seasoned and burn in Winter next year.
A little drizzly rain but it felt good to spend some time in the woodlot.

That looks pretty buried. Was it as solid as it looks?

Right where I want to be.
Looks like the log needed a haircut.
    Not a bad haul.

Was actually up in the air until last week. Not the best but pretty solid except for the first couple of cuts on the upper end. Will be okay for Winter 2021.

Looked at my list and seems I got it in 2018 for $150. Guess that’s not too bad for a good running Shindaiwa 488. Even though I’d probably opt for a 577 if I could only keep one saw, the 488s and 500s have cut more wood for me than any other.
The 577 has a bit more power so does better in bigger wood.

Not much but it makes starting the fire easy.

Im starting to appreciate the smaller rounds. Do you remove the moss when you split Reloader ?

Now that's a nice find. Both the wood and the saw!

Thats great that you were able to save it before it slipped away! Nice little haul.

Whatever falls off on its own while splitting. A lot of times it is easy t peel off before cutting but this was coming off in little pieces. Doesn’t hurt anything to leave it and it burns fine once dry.
