This is my pup Bodhi. He is a rescue and he has made himself at home; loves the fire as much as I do.

    I was hesitant as well.

Dogs love sitting in front of the fire.

My dog gets to hot by the fire. He’d lay in the snow than by the stove!

X2. I’d love to post a pic of my dog by the stove, because I love this thread. But he’s big and fluffy. He stays as far from the stove as he can get.

That's funny! We had a Fat once also. I gather it is not an extremely rare breed. We used to say that if T-Bear released all his fat stored energy at once that it would level an entire city block!

When i owned my house my late cat "Donny" (ironically named after the current president. This was in 2001) would lay on his back, stretched out on the hardwood floor in front of the insert, his front paws going left and the rear paws going right. He was in seventh Heaven. He looked so distorted i nicknamed him "Pretzel Puss" Wish i had a pic.

I've been thinking about this thread all day. This pic was taken at our old house in the city. We had a great Jotul Castine wood stove. We also had a great dog.

This was our old dog, Cash. He was an 82 pound Australian Shepherd. I got him on the day that Johnny Cash died. I gave him that name, and it lives on here. My dad always called him Cash Larue - and it stuck. We got him for free when he was a tiny puppy, from a stressed out friend who's dog accidentally had pups. I didn't even want a dog at the time. I could barely afford to feed myself. I basically took him in as a favor. When Cash was 9 months old, he jumped through my screen door and fought off two vicious stray dogs that attacked my wife (girlfriend at the time) in the street in front of our house. I was at work, and she was caught completely off guard. Cash ended up with several stitches in his face and her clothes were completely shredded. I could never repay him for that day. Best dog I ever had.

Sorry to get all sentimental on you all. I was just missing him today:confused:

Isn't that the truth! A few years in the past and gone now but she sure loved the woodstove. Had her own fat pillow that was always next to the stove or beside my chair, between it and the stove. My Mother in Law always used to say "I want Megan's life"! IMG_0035 (800x600).jpg
