I wish the game cam would've picked him up as soon as he was in frame. There's no question what it is though. Thought I'd share.

We have bobcats around here. Never seen one but all eight counties in the state have reported them. Apparantly there has been multiple mountain lion sightings too, bit the state DEP says they dont exist here.

We have a few Cougars around here. Mostly seen around bars and clubs. They seem relatively harmless as their main prey are young college guys,

That’s what DOW said about wolves here for the last 20 years. But even I’ve seen wolves here. DOW finally acknowledged that wolves are thriving in northern Colorado in 2019.
I wouldn’t doubt you have mountain lions there. They are very prolific. I live in the heart of mountain lion country, and I’ve only seen two in my entire life. They always say that mountain lions see you - You don’t see them.

Our DNR tried to deny the existence of mountain lions in Wisconsin. After many trail cams, sightings, paw prints, etc, they finally acknowledged them. I saw one run across the road in front of us while my dad was driving us to summer camp about an hour north of my house. That was 30+ years ago.

    The best was this story...
TRAPPER MEETS COUGAR IN ROCK COUNTY BARN.

    Which led to this...
Cougar's DNA may reveal his odyssey

    Cool vid.

There are supposedly a couple around here, with occassional sightings. I haven't seen any sign of them yet, I'd love to get one on the cam.

Deny they do. My Dad, one of the last of the true mountain men (in my eyes anyway) saw a Wolverine, up close, here in the Oregon Cascades and was immediately dismissed. There's no mistaking a Wolverine for anything else, and Dad doesn't make stuff up. Now a few years later and they are "admitting" yes, they've returned.

Here's a cougar at my home from last year - wish I had a full body shot. They are so amazingly powerful, seeing one, even just leaping across a road, is an unforgettable event. Your mind thinks "Cat!" Nuhhhhhh "Lion!"

Oregon voters banned hunting with dogs 25 years ago, and they have made a huge comeback, now eating livestock and pets. We've tried to repeal the law but city folks outnumber us.

Just this morning a friend showed me a game camera series of pictures showing a bobcat taking out a full grown doe. She appeared to be bedded down at the start, but you know how game cameras are.

We've got Cougar here as well, & same thing, DNR denied for years till the evidence was overwhelming. Beautiful creatures, but hard on livestock & pets.

My old man has always said “If you have deer, you have mountain lions.”

Here in Wisconsin, you can kill anything if it poses a threat to people, pets or livestock. I know that this has been utilized on wolves and cougars.
Your state is not unlike mine in the division of one part of the state to another.
