I seasoned up the unmarked #10 skillet and hung it on the wall. Nice to have a bigger skillet. Someone gave me a nice unmarked #8 Dutch oven at work. I have one, but I couldn't say no. Turns out my brother would like it. I'll clean it up and pass it on. The basting points are rounded off, which was different from what I normally see.
Took some time to make, but we had Krumkakes, with our own maple syrup substituted for vanilla extract. Crustless quiche was onion and ham made in a cast iron pan. Good eats!
Forgot to post this a while back. I made a TINY pizza for my 2 year old daughter out of one of those mini Lodge skillets. When I say mini, I mean its basically the size of something she would play with in her kitchen set. I think her and I both got a kick out of it anyway...
Seasoned butternut squash cubes with our own maple syrup glaze in the unmarked #10. Nice big pan. First time using it. Crusted up nicely at the end.
#10 might be my favorite size pan. Anything bigger on my stove would become somewhat useless since the burners don't have a huge diameter. Someday when I get a new stove though I may try to find bigger burners so I'll have an excuse to find some #12+ pans.
Used up some pears from a holiday gift box from work. Pan fried pear slice with cinnamon and allspice, cooked in our own maple syrup reduction. They browned up nicely.
Got my cast iron dampers on a board. 4-6" Mostly Griswold but a couple of others. The board is from the roof of our farmhouse as well as the hand cut nails to hold them on. The second pic is of one from an old hardware store from down around Biddleman 's neck of the woods.
