My kids are all grown and haven't used the treehouse for years. So this past summer I took down the second level and all exterior walls, kept the first floor and re-purposed the structure for firewood storage.

Good to reuse stuff that would have gone in the burn pile.. Bet the kids enjoyed it also.

It looks like the wood is surrounded by a giant anaconda.

I like it. If worse comes to worse you could always cut the tree holding it up for firewood!

It looks like the wood is stacked on the ground.

Kinda. There is a layer of bark between the bottom layer of fire wood and the ground.

Looks like an awesome old tree it’s stacked under.

Oh no! Where's the kids going to sleep if they come home and visit? :smoke:

Must have seen a lot of action during the tree house days; that tree is unique for sure!

And I'm with MikeInMa "get that wood off the ground!" It seems you can always find pallets for free if you know where to look. Heck, even shipping pallets busted up and use the boards for the bottom layer. :handshake:

Silly question. Great idea but why didn't you just take one side out and leave the other 3 and roof? Nice little mini shed.

    Use it up
    Wear it out
    Make it do
    Or do without.

I always think of that whenever I "recycle" something like that.

Good question, but there is a park is just beyond it. I got tired of finding beer bottles and other trash in it from kids in the park using it as a party hangout.

You'll just to rebuild it when the grandkids start coming around and hear stories about the tree house.

Filling it with wood would take of that.
