We've had our share of garage door incidents at the shop also, they are always funny after the fact.

A few years back one of my long time friends was working with me, after a wonderful Saturday at work he decided he would pull his truck up to the door and air a low tire up. I was looking out the window of the next building over just in time to see him pulling up to the door in his truck half hanging out of it like he was ready to jump out and air the tire up quickly. When he pulled up he missed the brake pedal, panicked and hit the e brake (which didnt work) and drove through the shop door. I was laughing uncontrollably, which may not have been appropriate but I couldnt help it, his dramatic reaction didnt help either.

A year or so ago a mechanic had a trailer in his bay and he was working on the lights. He left it attached to a shop truck to run the lights, the trailer was in his bag and the shop truck was outside of it and he had lowered the door in between the two to block the sunlight. Low and behold somebody else comes by and jumps in the truck and tries to take off (after doing a great walkaround) and removes a couple panels of the door.

Same mechanic a couple months ago, one bay down from the last incident. An older ditch witch came in to be serviced, he was not familiar with this piece of equipment and he jump started it in gear (safety switch had been disabled by field crew) and it drove itself out of the bay.

dont ever leave 1/2 of the pto shaft on the back of a bulldozer after you pull the dyno away from it and forget about it.....it WILL break the u- joint and fly thru the wall.

Parked downwind from something where it shouldn't have been? A friend parked his brand new fully loaded Ford Supercab downwind of a grinder - mixer and left it idling. He was not happy with the cab full of chaff and dust.

True, you could have said it belonged to somebody else. No one would have known...
