Most of the rain missed us, which is okay with me. Better to wait until the crops are out of the fields. 41 now and the wind has let up.
Thanks bro! That was free weights. I do have a smith machine - but I actually find using the smith machine for squats and bench more difficult, due to the mechanics of it. Free weights just allows me to struggle through it, without being confined to a particular range of motion.
When I was a kid, our "free" weights were feed bags full of grain. Then I also worked a couple years running a large feed grinder going from farm to farm. First shovel the corn in and maybe some oats too then bag it and carry it (100 lb) into a barn. Fortunately some had bins so we could blow the grain in rather than having to carry it. I'm sure this is part of my back problem...
I hear ya. That sounds like really hard work. I recovered from a significant on the job back injury a few years ago. *I was actually told by a physical therapist that you never really fully recover from a back injury. I’m really careful to listen to my back. If it’s sore or even questionable on a particular day, I won’t lift heavy.
Temps were down in the mid 20's this morning with clear blue skies. Continuing to burn the shoulder wood.
I completely agree. A perfectly straight bar path is not natural for a bench or squat. Locking you into that straight line can actually be dangerous and cause injuries. Which way the bar drifts tells you a lot on where your particular weaknesses are. For both bench and squat. I remember a 2 plate OHP, a 3 plate bench, 4 plate squat, and 5 plate DL (per side of bar) being my goals for the longest time. Seemed like I’d never get there. Once I reached them, I set new goals. Nothing quite as satisfying as ripping 600 lbs off the floor. Keep up the strong work brother!!!
48* out 70* in....no fire the last few days. We got a little over an inch and a half of rain yesterday. Temps are supposed to get closer to "normal" again. We will see....
61 and 71, hard to believe it’s mid November. We’re breaking records statewide during this stretch but today is the end of it. The rain looks like it will mostly miss us to the south and that’s a shame as we’re still in a severe drought. Probably need a fire tonight or tomorrow morning at the latest. I wonder if this will be a trend this winter. The last two long range forecasts I saw predicted above average temperatures and below average precipitation. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
28f and calm at 2:30 AM when I woke up. 50f predicted with a bit of late day rain. Small load in the stove to keep the chill off.
Looks like the 60-70 degree days are about over here. Supposed to get down in the mid forties by tomorrow and stay there for at least the next week with overnights in the 20's-30's. It was fun while it lasted!!! Time to re-light the stove
The high for the day was 67 at 12:30 am and it’s below 50 now with wind and rain off and on, heading for the 30’s overnight. I lit the Fireview at 1 o’clock with a little pine and hemlock to take the chill and dampness out.
19f outside right now. 70F inside. Stove has a 1/3 rd of a load left to use up. About as cold outdoors as we've had for quite some time. Believe I'll add a bit of air to the stove and bump the house temp up a couple degree's. Now where is my coffee!
