That year was spent near Gaylord then north from there. I remember that day well. Wind was terrible. I was working that day near Hillman, not far from papadave place, but he was still down south.
Super windy today as well in Wisconsin. We had tornado watches today and apparently had a 79 mph gust at Milwaukee's airport. We're supposed to have 40-50 mph gusts until 5 am or so. I was like 8 months old when the Edmund Fitzgerald sank. I'm surprised that it wasn't mentioned on the news tonight, despite the 2 hours of weather people talking about the weather.
I was in the service stationed at Iwakuni Japan on Nov 10, 1975..... I did not hear the news about the Edmund Fitzgerald but I do remember the Gordon Lightfoot song.

I was a few days from turning 3. I remember well the debut of the song, as we grew up on the Long Island Sound and my father was a part time lobsterman. Storms rolled in and churned up the Sound quickly, so we were always alert to this danger when out lobstering.
I was only a few days behind you. We lived in Caribou then so still a long ways from salt water. Now 20 miles.
