Cut down some white ash

Had some dead standing white ash to cut down. Not good camera placement on the felling video. Turned these suckers into some boards.

Very nice! That is some beautiful wood! And yes it's nice to see proper ppe as well.

 

Yeah i am going to make a couple tables out of some of the better boards, and use the rest to build a small building

 

With the standing dead trees that have suspect wood, i like to take my time. i dont want to get surprised by anything.

Nice. What do you call the other wood mizer thing? 2x4 maker? Never seen one of those.

 

Its called a edger or a re-saw. It works good for cutting the live edges off of boards or for cutting dried boards to size.

I keep flip flopping between black oak, white ash, red ash, black locust, and juniper as my favorite woods to split/smell/burn/whatever!

Missed the original posting, great job! Would be so awesome to have a band mill.

 

Added some poplar to the saw pile this weekend. Tree was 113' tall and got two 12' logs and three 8' logs.

 

amazing how tall and straight those poplars grow. Have a twin just into our woods. Towers above the other trees.
