Had some dead standing white ash to cut down. Not good camera placement on the felling video. Turned these suckers into some boards. . Putting them on the trailer with the tractor: Setting a log on the sawmill: Running a scrap thru the edger to make some stickers:
Yeah i am going to make a couple tables out of some of the better boards, and use the rest to build a small building
With the standing dead trees that have suspect wood, i like to take my time. i dont want to get surprised by anything.
Its called a edger or a re-saw. It works good for cutting the live edges off of boards or for cutting dried boards to size.
I keep flip flopping between black oak, white ash, red ash, black locust, and juniper as my favorite woods to split/smell/burn/whatever!
Added some poplar to the saw pile this weekend. Tree was 113' tall and got two 12' logs and three 8' logs.
amazing how tall and straight those poplars grow. Have a twin just into our woods. Towers above the other trees.
