Crystal clear night, 5oC, had to be done. Just waiting for the moon to pop it’s head around the corner. The best things in life are free

Unfortunately it’s not a seasoned oak party . I’m burning unseasoned mulberry which I know Is a waste even though it’s not too bad (3 months seasoned) (outdoor fire). a conifer of some sort which isn’t great either but I’ve saved the night with some seasoned ash which has changed my mood completely

50 Celsius? Surely you meant Fahrenheit. That’s 122F

Nice variety. Is the mulberry throwing sparks?

Not too bad to be honest. First time I burnt it, it was very unseasoned and I learnt me lesson not to burn it like that again . Still a very slow burner but once it’s been on the fire about an hour it gives off a tremendous heat.

We have mulberry in my area, I've got a bunch in my stacks. One of my faves too.

I don’t think it’s that common in the U.K., could be wrong but I stumbled upon this from a friend who had one in his garden. It comes across a really hot burner ( even unseasoned) so I can see why people see it as a top choice. First time burning ash tonight too and what a pleasure it is. I honestly do take burning wood as a privilege, especially the good woods like ash and oak.

Here too. My arborist buddy drops Mulberry off here fairly frequently. I’ve always loved the way it burned. I had no idea what it was until I asked about it on this site:dex:
