Forecast for today was upper 60's but it got up to 74. Highs in the 70's for the rest of the week. Getting down into the 40's next week. Not burning much shoulder wood with these temps.
Around 20 early this morning. Ash and Pine burning in the Wood Gun after I did a cleaning of it. Looks like it’s going to be an awesome day out there. Suppose to go to 57! Beautiful sunshine today.
I think I get the point. Al gore is responsible for the warm weather in the u.p. Clever. I think I get the point.
Another night with no fire in stove but had to build one this morning as house was down in 60's. That is nice outside but not in house.
No fire today. Turned on the furnace for a few minutes to take the chill out and opened the drapes to let the sun finish warming the house. Highs in the 70's today. I may not have a fire until later this weekend.
I did yesterday take tractor in back to get a bit of pine and spruce so we'd have plenty for several short fires. No need of burning hardwood in this weather then having to open windows to cool it off.
We still have over three face cord of pine left but we'll save that for the spring. We have some not so great Cherry in at the moment so if we need heat, we'll burn that. With the temps warming up during the day but cool enough for some heat at night coming up, I might just cycle the furnace for five minutes or just use the propane fireplace if needed.
60F outside. With the forecasted temperatures for the foreseeable future looking more like late September than early November around here, I think it's safe to say I won't be burning for the next 10 days anyway. Indian summer has arrived. Good time to head to the river and pull out a couple more catfish before the real cool down sets in.
