Slip sliding away.... The whole thing looks like a disaster waiting to happen. Suppose that flooring is dry enough? I was waiting for the smoke at the end but I guess they decided not to share that part. What a letdown
This is pretty much why I'm going to buy flex rods and a whip brush for bottom up cleaning this year. Not sure how much I will like it, but last year I slid off the roof (regular shingles) and took off the gutters on that part of the roof. Not again.
Hope you ddnt get badly hurt.. I did roofing for work in my younger days and had a few close calls. Dont want to get up on a roof to much now unless I half to.
My house has a metal roof. The previous owner put traction tape on the roof up to the chimney and around it. It has been an awesome little trick for cleaning and working on the chimney.
Just a few scratches, nothing serious. Luckily I landed on the porch roof from the main roof. It was a good example of why I don't want to do that any more than necessary.
You folks going up on the roof need to invest in a chicken ladder. It's a roofing ladder with a hook that hooks over the peak.I have two of them. It allows one to go up and down the roof pitch with no problem.Forget all these near slips and falls.Stop playing games people.
It's a great tool and a life saver.A cheaper option is to get roofing ladder hooks that attach to a ladder. There are wheels on the back of the hooks so you can push/roll the hooks on the ladder to the peak then flip the ladder over to put the hooks over the peak.I'm through watching guys going on roofs without one of these tools putting themselves in danger.Sheer foolishness.
Awesome, thanks for the info. I will definitely look into that. I hated my roof because it has a pretty steep pitch, but this would be just the ticket. I always wanted to install ladder like rungs bolted to the roof but found too many problems with that, but this is easy enough.
