Caffeine going in. Well, yesterday I was working my rear off trying to get all the firewood under the porch before the rain returns today. And it was an absolutely beautiful day out! Worked at it all day long. My son helped out for about an hour and a half in the afternoon so he used the wheeler and wagon and I put the L48 to work.

We almost got it all in. But he had to go to work at his first real job and I ran out of steam. Maybe 4-5 more wagon loads and it will be done this morning. Rain suppose to start around 11ish.

Both 16 y.o.s now have there first real jobs and their driver’s licenses! We are proud parents. Makes it nice, if we don’t need one of the vehicles, that they can take one and just go to work, school, or store. They have both been saving for their first vehicle for a while now. I’m making them wait until they can afford a little nicer, more reliable vehicle, and have some money for insurance, repairs, etc.

Almost time to get out to the firewood. You hoarders have a great day and have some kind of fun!

Yesterday was such a nice day I decided it was time to get the rest of this years wood brought up to the garage area. I almost got it all done yesterday but had to quit a bit early to get ready for a trick-or-treat party. This morning I brought a small load up to finish it up. I'm guessing it is closer to 4.5 cord rather that 4.75-5 cord cause I only threw a few loose pieces in between stacks this time. I wanted to maximize air flow for that side.

Side work picked up again, so I spent the day making mud kitchens instead of moving firewood like I wanted to. Thankfully the weather is warming up again in the next few days. This snow and cold snap made me realize just how far behind I am prepping for winter.

Oh, and in case you're wondering, homemade chocolate chip cookies go well with bourbon. Who knew?

Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone...getting ready for BD dinner here, and now the power is out...had high winds all afternoon, and rain, and sun, and snow, and sleet and...:hair: fortunately our local power line crews are very good, and are usually right on top of it! We are rarely out for more than an hour, two at the most (but we are also very close to the power plant too)

My cousin and I just got back from "elk camp."

Actually we went to an elk farm in SE MN to quarter a cow purchased from the farmer.

By the time we got there he had moved it from his land to a pen for us to inspect before humanely putting it down with a .38.

We then moved in to skin and quarter it before bringing back to my friend's garage to break it down further.

    upload_2020-11-1_15-56-47.png
It was a beautiful specimen. I like the capture of the farmer's father (86 years young) sitting to take it all in after he had backed the tractor into the barn and drug it out for us.

After calculations it will come out to about $6 a pound which is cheaper than going out west anyways.

Got a roast in the crock now for dinner.

I looked in my kids bathroom this morning and saw a roll of paper towels on the floor by the toilet. Upon further inspection I saw that there was no toilet paper.
    :hair:

They certainly heard about that loud and clear.
