I just use an old ketchup bottle...the standard pop top ones, not the newer ones with the "no drip valve" in the cap.
As long as the "Aunt Jemima" you use for the bar oil doesn't ever get brought into the house. "THAT'S NOT SYRUP!!!!!"
I think the spout is a good idea, but those containers are way too big. I like the idea of a syrup/ ketchup/ dish soap squeeze bottle as they are small enough. I find that when I use an old true fuel container for premix( or 2), and the gallon container of bar oil fit easily in my 5 gallon bucket with bucket boss tool bag for when I go into the woods.
I still like the Husqvarna dual container that's in the center of the picture (one side for fuel/oil mix and one side for bar/chain oil, holder for an extra chain and spots for the scrench and files). I leave the large containers at home and just bring this when I'm out scrounging.
A standard quart oil bottle has a divot in my Husqvarna saw box. Fill it with my gallon that stays in the garage
The twobottles i carry with me in the tool box. Rather than pull the foil seal off a fresh gallon, i poke a hole, sometimes two, to pour. If im home ill fill the saws from it, if in the field the smaller bottle.
You’ll know it if it happens, regardless if it’s the wife or kids, you will hear it from your house 700 miles away.
That's a good idea! I always just carry a 2.5 gal gas can and a gal jug of the bar oil, when I spill and over flow the bar oil, it runs down on to the bar, I figure that just pre lubes it
Those detergent jugs work well for filling saws, I've got a couple. Set them on the tailgate & fill, less mess.
Wow!! So many great ideas guys. Honestly i like all of them, im still waiting to empty the tide container. It is big though, not sure if it will fit in my milk crate with the 1 gallon gas container. The problem with filling small containers for the tool box is i will definitely without a doubt forget to fill them at some point.
I tried this once. Wasn’t very handy to get close to fill hole. X-nayed the idea rightly quick . I like the rectangle antifreeze jugs for bar oil. Can get them closer to fill hole than round jugs it seems.
Ive kept two Husky fuel cans that I got when I bought my saw 4 years ago because I planned to use those for fuel when working away from the house. Instead, I just keep bringing my 2 gallon pre ban fuel can. I like the idea of a quart of bar oil though, easier than the big bottle for sure.
