Finished splitting all the rounds I had cut and filled all the pallets I had. Anyone ever grab pallets behind a Walmart? Don’t know if they leave them out, just wondering where I can get 4 more.
Took this pic, because I was appreciative of hitting a group of straight grained goodness.

Aside from being asked if I "really want to like a post" there's been no issues on my end.

Umm yeah, a bullet, even if it's a 2-3 dollar a round high end hunting cartridge is still cheaper than any deer/ vehicle collision. Good near miss brenndatomu

Did you read about that family from Utah that went to Maui? They were not allowed out of the airport. Kind of shocking really. It happened to 12 other people on the same page to Maui, not being allowed in.

Sounds like your run of the mill 9mm target round at todays prices.

Naw, not that much, if you can find it. The boxes of high end big game magnum rounds are about the only thing you can find in stores now. At 40 bucks a box or more. If you get lucky you can find the regular $20 box of 308, 30-06, etc..

I'm glad I was able to secure a few boxes of 7.62x39 at a local store when I could. Now it's online only and even at near double the typical price, you can at least get a brick if you need it. It doesn't make sense to buy less than a few hundred at a time online with the shipping charges.

No handgun ammo anywhere. No .22lr, just .17 hmr or 22mag. Some shotgun shells but I'm set on those.

Can't say I've taken pallets from behind a Walmart before, but it might be worth going in and asking a manager. My biggest pallet sources are Craigslist, industrial parks where the businesses put them out to the road, and a beer distribution warehouse that does the same.

9MM is over $0.52 a round now if you can find it. Absolutely insane. I want to buy a new pistol, but now is not the time to be taking on a new caliber. I'll stick with .45 for now and what I have in my stores for ammo.

Don't get me wrong, they do have a certain appeal to me. I'm just thinking availability. Maybe I'm being pessimistic, but I don't see things turning out so great after next week no matter what the outcome is. People already in a frenzy to get what they can while they can will exacerbate the problem. Hopefully I'm wrong though.

I just fixed the GE cook stove. It's a cafe model that we bought when we bought the house on 2008. It has a lower electric range, and the gas top burners and the main oven is gas. The keypad want responding as of this afternoon. The light in the oven would turn on, the lower electric oven would work, and the range burners would light and work. The digital clock worked too. The only button on the pad that would elicit the typical beep was the "clear" button. I tried the old unplug it and let it reset for a couple of minutes deal not expecting anything, but that fixed it. Apparently that's semi common on ge ranges like this, although this is the first time it's ever given me any issues. Oh well, good to go and I got mega bonus points from my wife.

My wife's birthday is coming up next month but I'm going to celebrate it with her a couple weeks early this weekend. Back before she became strapped with kids and all the trappings of adulthood, she used to love riding horses. I've gone a few times myself but it's been over 20 years since I've ridden one. I remember vividly having a sore backside afterwards :) So I made reservations today to do a trail ride with her this weekend. It's about an hour long so nothing too crazy but I figured she'd appreciate getting out of the house for a while and reconnecting with a part of herself she lost long ago. We've had our fair share of trials and tribulations over the years so in a way I can understand why she isn't beaming with sunshine every day. Hopefully she enjoys herself and it gives her a sense that she is indeed appreciated.

Weather permitting, I am gonna go take a look at this truck tomorrow morning. Mileage seems a little high for a 2004, but the price is right

I think I'll be able to cut all the racking off the flatbed, and hang a lift gate on the back. Perfect for delivering the mud kitchens....and would make a killer scroungemobile!

7000 miles a year is pretty low.
