I will say I think the Sugar Maple’s are one of the prettiest trees. Especially in fall. Oaks are also nice, standing big and proud. Locust May be great firewood, but there’s little denying they look like an overgrown weed
A lot of metaphors and symbolism come to mind in those pictures. Skyward ascension. Life cycle. Growth. Time. Death. Inevitability. ad infinitum
Chestnut Oak in same cemetery. They are beautiful specimens that get all the sky and protected soil they need. They will be around for generations to come. I always think about the persons who had the forethought to plant them in the 19th century.
Actually, no. I read what came up first which was the vote and then scrolled down to read your post. I’m getting the feeling quite a few of us did the same
In my area Emory Oak / Red Oak variety Southwestern Choke Cherry / Black Cherry variety Gamble Oak / White Oak variety Alligator Juniper ( for lighting a quick hot fire to get the above woods burning) Quick question to the poster. How in the heck is Boxelder on the finals list? Are you serious????
So on the poll list why is the elm the only one with an asterisk? Is that because it is the star of all firewood?
