Bought these boots for the "shoulder season". Incidentally, the shoulder season is just about over now. Only 400 grams insulation but more importantly, waterproof. Hope they hold up.

Forecast for Cody, WY Sunday night is -4ºF. Brrrrr. I would want a good supply of wood in that's for sure.

We hit 82* today. I got the garden tilled after work. It can snow now.

The partial basement remodel is moving along slow but sure. Final paint done today. Sanding and staining of some molding and the new beam done today. The new steel door was installed on the wood boiler room. I plan on a gravity register at the top of the boiler room wall that goes to hallway and up the staircase. I need to figure out how to put a furnace filter on it though. Make the hot air go through a filter before it gets out.

Still more to do but I may call it good for now and move everything out. Then let my son move the workout equipment down there. The moving of firewood has to become priority now. I still have a bunch of that to get under the covered porch.

It always looks like a huge space when it is empty but fills up fast when you start moving stuff in there.

Agreed. This space should be about the same size as the space in the two bay garage we are using now. Might be a tiny bit smaller. So we will use all of it. One piece of equipment we don’t use much at all, so that may go on Craigslist and save us that space.

Too bad, looks like Grand Lake neighborhoods were burned down. My aunt and uncle's home survived, cousin is a EMT/Firefighter and I recall him working defensible space on their property for several years, no doubt a huge reason their home and cabin survived. Beetle-Kill Still curious Steamboat is untouched.

    Estes is evacuating too, yikes.

PS for those following, this is a totally different fire, burning for a week now, but blew up overnight and today.

I had to go to Auburn, ME yesterday to see a customer. I just happened to be driving through Portland at noon, so I called another customer and met him for lunch. I was blown away how nice it was out. We ate outside, and enjoyed the weather. First business lunch in over 7 months!

It happens every year but is still amazing the difference in such a short distance. I remember one time I was in Ohio (Galion I think) and it was like spring. About halfway between Toledo and the Mackinaw bridge I was driving in a blizzard... That was many moons ago. I did make it home that night but it was very late..

Certainly not enough insulation for me! I have some with double that and my feet still freeze.

Right. I have other boots for the cold weather. 800, 1000, 1200, and 1400 grams of insulation and all waterproof. I wish I had the same "arsenal" of footwear while I was working. :handshake:

These boots will be used only in mild temps.

Next, just a pair of non-insulated but still waterproof.
