Not from the recent Alaska earthquake but we do live in an earthquake/tsunami area. We live high enough above the water that a tsunami wouldn't affect us but an earthquake could if it was close enough. We usually don't feel any tremors here from the earthquakes that happen in our general area.

So glad to hear you are high enough if the tsunami comes.

Don't mean to burn your eyes:
Traffic had to be diverted due to a large crack in the road.

Since he left landscaping and moved to quarry work I'm wondering if he doesn't get laid off in the winter months? I miss his videos.

But I wish they would not. The evening local half hour new is intolerable with all the anti Collins ads. Need so sit there with the remote so as to silence the ads.

What brand did you find? I had one that itched me too much. Now go for cotton with a small percent of synthetic material so it isn't all wrinkles. No one here uses an iron.

    "I lost my friend"

"It's a cruel place, that palliative care bed.
And a cruel place inside a dying man's head.
We all know we're all going to die someday,
But to know it's only a couple months away?

I wonder is it better to suddenly go?
With no worry, and plans made for tomorrow?
Some people "clue things up" from a single bed.
Then they just lie and wait with the clock ticking overhead.

    I lost my friend.
    Sometimes one mistake,
    Is all it takes,
To bring a life to an early end,
    I lost my friend.
    I've never felt this way,
    Probably won't again,
    I lost my friend.

    I can only imagine,
But if I had to guess,
It's an awful job to think on your regrets,
And wonder if you helped or harmed, more or less.

When I see a man who's made a bad choice or two,
We all make mistakes, and I have too,
And his family has given up on him,
And he just can't get on the straight path once again.

    I lost my friend.
I'll never see his haggard face again,
    I lost my friend.
There was nothing more I could have done for him,
    I lost my friend.

A bad choice doesn't make you a bad man,
Sometimes the guy is doing the best he can.
He has good intentions he don't know how to exalt,
Sometimes he doesn't know better and it's not his fault.

A fairly brief trip or two to jail,
And just like that, the man is doomed to fail,
They'll never fully trust the man again,
    Parents, family, bosses, even friends.

    I lost my friend.
Maybe in another life we'll meet again,
    I lost my friend.
Maybe he'll have peace of mind by then,
    I lost my friend.

Addiction, it's a strange and cruel thing.
Changes who you are, changes most everything.
It might have drove his family away,
Maybe he had Noone left to turn to anyway.

And when you trade the drug that took your life away,
For one that keeps you comfortable in your last days,
It can make you look back on the time that passed you by,
And all that you can do is wonder why.

His chances they all came, and they all went.
I wish as much as him things could be different.
I tried to help, but he was too far gone.
There's nothing I can do now but move on.

    I lost my friend.
A bitter life, and such a bitter end.
    I lost my friend.
I'll always think about him now and then.
    I lost my friend.

To be faced with consequences of your past,
And to know that chance you had, it was the last.
To know that you're going to an early grave,
And it's because of choices you yourself have made.

Is there a chance at heaven, or doomed straight down to hell?
He never really harmed a soul except himself.
Disappointed sure, but I know he tried his best.
Failed once, that lead to twice, and to the rest.

Honestly, to see a good egg fall,
It's enough to question the meaning of it all.
Some people seem born to help fellow humankind,
Others seem themselves are the only one to cross their mind.
Others hold their riches for themselves,
Some seem to be demons in disguise from hell.
Some are harmless, but they just don't have a clue.
Others just remind the rest of us what not to do.

    I lost my friend.
    Sometimes one mistake,
Is all it takes, to bring a life to an early end,
    I lost my friend.
    Every time he slipped,
    He tried twice to repent,
    I lost my friend.
I'll never see his haggard face again,
    I lost my friend.
    I've never felt this way,
    Probably won't again,
    I lost my friend.
I'll always think about him now and then,
    I lost my friend."

Two freaking Great Horned Owls who-who-who-ing practically right outside the bedroom window every 15 to 30 seconds and two more off not too far in the distance . All 4 calling over each other like out of control rude politicians in a debate . This has been going on for the last couple of weeks, tonight they're especially loud/close. Of course I get mostly dressed and go outside to better hear if there are more than 4 and the closest one can't be more than 200 feet away. Like being close to a lighthouse foghorn. Bedroom window blocks more sound than I thought. damm it's nice outside, 65ºF. No wind. Quiet, just katydids, crickets, a cicada off in the distance and an occasional water drop in the trees from the light fog/dew.
