Manageable sized tree. Nice pile of rounds. Did it take you longer to decide which saw to use than to cut the wood??? Or is that your go to saw?

I did toy with the idea of bringing a specific 266, but that’s it.
    562XS is my go to!

I see a bit of fungus on the bark. Did you fell it or blow down? Most of it looks solid. Might even be good to go, if standing dead.

was hard leaning dead until relatively recent. About 30 degrees to the horizontal. I had plans of walking it down, but when I checked it late yesterday, it was on the ground. perfect!

Just noticed yesterday a cherry that struggled thru the 2106 drought has only one live branch way up the top . This year's drought has probably slimmed its longevity to near zero. It's on my list to remove. Then I noticed a pine tree near it has dropped all its needles and now has bare branches. Not sure if it is pine borer infested as when it gets real dry the pines lose their defenses to thwart them. I may just thin all the woods there to trees about 8 feet apart so the trees I want have a higher survival rate . Which means lots of pine wood, none of it worth anything unless you like really, really knotty pine boards. As they are all pioneer trees.

Looks like a woodpecker has been dining on its inhabitants.

Tell me, future boy, in the year 2106, does anyone have a spine anymore or do we resemble overweight shapeless Amoebas connected to a central AI host computer that controls our every move through a virtual neuronet??? Inquiring minds would like to know.

My best guess is whatever pretty little package our further enslavement comes in, people will willingly sign up for it. Whether it's cranial implants, microchips, or something I can't even conceive of.
