My neighbor across the street had tree work done, opening up their yard a bit. Very nice guy brought me these beauties:

It's a mix of hickory, oak, birch and beech. A good start for 2022-2023!

I agree, some of the nicest poles I've had to date. Shouldn't be too hard on my back given they're not in the XL category

Meant to welcome you to the FHC Sailrmike :handshake: Always nice to have another netmegger here.
Lots of great folks on here. Ive had the privelege of meeting several including three from CT.
Nice group of logs there. Perfect having them dropped off. Big ones are tough on the old back but make lots of splits.

I used to scrounge roadside with my van, it's a lot of work just getting them in, I'd have no energy left to css :(. Moved to a much more wooded neighborhood, had to have some big oaks near the house taken down. That was my first log pile about 5yrs ago now. Local tree service that I used was looking for dumping grounds, so he brought me some refills. I'm lucky that very few tree services around here sell firewood, most of them just want to get rid of the wood. I know of at least two tree services near me that buy processor poles for their firewood operation, and just junk the wood from tree jobs :hair:
