Light rain here all day. Delta remnants yesterday mostly stayed south of us, today's rain came from west of us.
The ground is so hard from drought that we have puddles like it is raining 2 inches an hour.
I'm guessing maybe half an inch, my rain gauge blew over in the wind the other day. I'm hoping I left a bucket out somewhere.
With a 10-12 inch deficit any amount will do as long as it doesn't come down so fast it just runs off.

We have gotten a solid rain here since 9am supposed to stop around 8pm. Seems like it’s been a long time since it’s rained pretty much all day. I was starting
(still am) getting concerned about the well, the water has been a bit murky lately. Some more rain forecasted for the end of the week. I don’t really remember ever hoping for rain.

My place has gotten close to 1.5". All of it has been gentle so it has time to soak in  - doesn't alleviate the sever drought conditions, but help never the less.

It’s a COLD rain too if you go out. We need water, forecast is for 1-2 inches here. Needs to come slowly and soar in, not just dump.

I honestly couldnt tell you the last time I remember an all day rain. I was at my office most of the day, and it was pouring pretty good for a few bursts, but like bogieb said, it wasnt enough to wash away.

Hopefully, we turn the corner soon, and get regular rain. Being across the street from a pond, I dont seem to have much issue with ground water, but I know a lot of people do!

My buddy had 2 not legal spike bulls at 65 yds last nite

don’t know what he’s done today dropped him off in a dark timber canyon at dawn and pick him up at dark

I am having a blast in Colorado not sure he is but that can change in one trigger pull

We had a drought in 2016. The lake across the street dried up. The snapping turtles left, apparently hung out in the dried up swamp and came back. We'd have turtles getting squished in the street every year when they left to lay eggs and come back.
This year it dried up again and there were no turtles and no bull frogs croaking at night.
The pond up the street almost dried up this year too. Never saw it so low. Keep meaning to take a walk earlier in the day to take a pic as it actually looks like a mostly dried up little pond with a little water in the middle. The lake just looks like a big field of fist size rocks.

    That's sad.
Let's hope for a snowy winter.

My pond is at least 18-20" low this year. Ive only been here for four years, but people who have lived here forever say its the worst they have seen it.

I got all my white oak splits racked today.

Started splitting a big pignut I’ve had in the yard since spring. Splitting that was annoying after splitting white oak. Some of the rounds are 20-24” and the splits were pretty fuzzy before they broke loose.

Woke up to wind and rain as a rain event happened. Decided to leave town and go down island. When we got back, we found out the power went off about 1 1/2 hr after we left. So out came the Gennie, baseball was on and the house heat circulator was hooked up. Nice to have a Gennie. Just hauled the camp stove up to the kitchen and the power came back on. Great timing.

Always feels like winter on the water out here. Where on the island were you fishing?
