    Another showdown. Ready your pitchforks and lets head to the arena!!!

    Today we have two more contestants. Silver Maple and Douglas Fir. Both come in at the exact same MBTU and seasoning time specs with 17.4 MBTU, and 12 months seasoning. Doug said "its an easy victory for him!", Silvy said "In his dreams, all he's good for is lumber!" I don't know who to believe.

    Douglass Fir. All day. I burn a lot of both. Doug Fir burns hotter, longer and coals up better.

    Ive burned both. DF as framing lumber scraps. Silver maple around here in tree form so gets my nod. I dont agressively seek it, but if an easy score of it pops up ill take it. Cut a PU full around Christmas last year and its below 20% MC.

    i chose silver maple because ive never really had a chance to try douglas fir were i live but silver maple really seems to be descent shoulder wood
