Didnt feel like getting up early and hitting my other BL areas. Worked a full day yesterday which is rare for me on a Saturday so on the tired side. Drove by this back in August. Isaias blowover into the road. City hastily cleared it. Had an errand to run nearby so went here instead. Thought only a half PU full as big trunk was higher up in the air. I was only going to cut wood on ground. It had dropped since i last saw it. Bucked the entire tree rather than what was chunked off. 20" DBH so over half cord for the score. Typical BL location...just off railroad tracks in an empty overgrown area. Couple hours working and took my time clearing brush and hacking through vines and overgrowth. Fairly busy road but room to work safely. Had my cone up. Trunk stayed elevated as i worked my way towards the root ball. And yes sirbuildalot BL does self split on occasion. Last three rounds i bucked fell apart. Metal hazards...old sign mount and guys wires which i nicked slightly. The fire hydrant was buried under the brush too. Heaping PU full. Forgot the isocore so had to sledge and wedge with my little 4lb sledge...PITA! Couldve lifted rounds but get more in PU when halved. 15 minutes from home. Ill go back. What i left behind.
Good that you freed up the fire hydrant. That score probably would have been cleaned up by the road crew just because of that.
i was surprised it was buried like it was. Barely visible. It was going to be one of my defense lines if a cop showed up. Loaded rounds as i cut for the most part in case one did.
You need side boards on that pickup Brad! My wife and I escaped up to North Conway, NH for a few days this past weekend. While sitting in traffic about 2 miles from my house, I saw a downed locust, right next to the road, and the train tracks, made me think of you and your insanity! Up in the white mountain national forest, I saw a car hoarder on the side of the road bucking and loading a white birch into a Subaru earlier in the day.

Not slipping...let me explain. It was in New Haven on a road i dont often travel. It was late August just before the tornado hit. I was doing a tree job in East Haven and hauling the brush to Wallingford dump when i discovered it. Wasnt taking highway with a heaping load of spruce limbs otherwise wouldnt have found it. The busy road was the reason it wasnt high priority, plus random length chunks...lots of shorts.

While the ad shows a couple of trunks the pics show across the street is the real score If I were closer I’d ask the woman with the ad about the stuff on the other side of the road. Maybe make it a twofer.
Its 2.5 hours from home, so no, its not worth the trip. Bronco is still running well, slowly rotting away.
I was tempted by that ad when it popped up. Florence is even further than Northampton from me. Kind of glad the Springfield ad popped up.
The wood unloaded last night. Picked up rest this afternoon. Quick five minute stop. Rain today was minimal. Split this and some of the other. Nice cool day for it.
Dang I may have to take on this one myself. Only 67 minutes from me and I live in central Ct. You folks in Mass do know what that right pedal in the vehicle is for right?
