    Nice, that spruce/pine blend at 209/ton looks to be the sweet spot. How do those do for heat out of a softwood blend? I know that you have talked about Uncle Jeds in the past....

    Cant touch softwood around here for anything under 265/ton

    I have used those Jed's softwoods maybe five years ago… a really good pellet. I switched to a doug fir pellet after trying them and getting spoiled… but I think this season I'll use the Jed's softwood mix. Budget is much tighter this year… last year, when I was still trucking, I had no budget because of $4.00 diesel so I just bought by the bag when I had some loose change in my pocket… used a lot of Marth softwood and another hardwood mix from my local liquidation center.

    This year my dealer is buying the Marth hardwood in bulk and bagging it under their own label… that's the lowest price pellet. I wouldn't wish those on my worst enemy… way too ashy. they burn OK just very messy. I think that southern oak pellet is one they tried a few years ago… comes out of TN. Not bad but still ashy… better than the Marth by far. They bag that stuff themselves IIRC… I think they are actually bagging every pellet themselves right now except the "early buy" Pinnacles.

    I say that every year but come late October I have a hard time using the good stuff. Right now I have only 3 or 4 bags left and then its only the better softies. That is unless I score some FSU or PTL soon.

    I'd try em again. I did like the brown bag hardwoods I tried. Was hoping some would venture my way again, But haven't seen em.
