Mostly Locust, a little cherry, tomorrow some hickory. Locust, some of the oldest I have hovering around 21%. Cherry was 18% Sometime this winter I’ll turn it into a floor.
Maybe I'm a bit of a city slicker, but running that big honkin' saw blade off a tractor has got to be the coolest thing I've seen in a long time. That's going to make an awesome floor too. Keep us posted!
Wondering how your going to make the floor level and fill in between the rounds.. Pore it like a bar top .??
Cord wood flooring. Basically laid like tile, sanded, sealed then grouted. There are a few people who cut and fit them together Seamless. I don’t think I’m going that extreme. cordwood flooring pics - Google Search
That will be really cool looking when done Joe. You can do some nice work. Masonry with wood though???
A first for me but the concept is as old as the hills. https://www.motherearthnews.com/homesteading-and-livestock/cordwood-homes-zmaz78ndzraw
I hear ya. I’m only doing a 3’x6’ mud floor in front of a door. An entire floor would make me vomit I think. It’s one of those bucket list things. At one time I wanted to build a barn from it. This will put a nail in that coffin.
If it comes to fruition. The cookies are just one step I needed to do before reducing the rest of the black locust to firewood. A now or never thing See how these cookies dry out, flat or potato chips.
