I had a fire in the pit last night. Thought it was out by now... I had just split a few pieces of Ash I scored today and threw some of the bark scraps into the pit. 5 minutes later it burst into flames. Man I wish it wasn’t Sunday night. I could use another evening sitting by the fire forgetting about worldly problems. Oh well, maybe the pit will keep the raccoons entertained for a while tonight.

    BTDT. :startled:
Exactly why we put ashes from the stove into metal container, on a non combustible surface, outdoors.

Yeah I do the same. I reuse the ashes for my chickens to take dust baths in, also sometimes as a de-icer one the sidewalks in the winter. I’m just surprised this time around because the fire I had last night was no rager and I only fed it for about an hour. A bunch of scrap pallet wood I had to get rid of. Oh, and one piece of past it’s prime Locust. Oops that must’ve been it. :) BTW what’s BTDT stand for?

My mother returned a text I sent her about the wildfire, she said "glad u gotta go home". Alright, who was on my mother's phone?!? She does not say gotta and knows that is not a word. And u? I don't know any person in their 70's that would type like that. Maybe she was babysitting?

Text her again to make sure she’s alright. Maybe she’s not feeling well.
