Just a few ants. There is also a huge oak trunk, and smaller chunks, on Broad St. just west of the mall. It's been there since spring.
Sure, why not? Red oak from the dump today. The pile in the driveway is growing. I'll get it cut to size soon, and stash the rounds for splitting this winter.
Thats some primo oak. Have you been going there daily? I have a recycling run very soon and am looking forward to seeing the wood/brush area! Crazy fanatical hoarder i am!
Nice score again Molly! I'm closing my office in Nashua tomorrow, and moving some stuff to a storage facility right down the street from the dump. Ill have the Bronco, so ill have to swing by and see nothing yet again. The only thing I've ever seen at that dump was you once before me met. Never any scores for me! (Not that I frequent it)
Good luck at the dump. Will probably be pretty depressing. If you want more granite cutoffs, the stone pile is just down the road from the huge pile of construction debris.
The brush dump is to the left, but if you follow the access road to the right, you will pass the metal dump, the construction dump, and the drywall dump. The stone dump is just past the drywall.
I just looked on google earth, I think I see it. Take the right just after the brush dump, and its at the very end of those piles? Google Maps
You got it. The legends tell of another, bigger, wood dump at the end of that road, where tree services dump logs and chips. I've never seen it.
I dont see anything like that on Google Earth, but it looks like they have a composting area. They likely drop chips back there, but not logs.
I got the oak cut up today. I used the MS 250, it ran great, started right up. I think it's found it's sweet spot.
great work Molly! I didnt make it by the dump on my way home today. A very large and heavy modular cabinet from my shop found its way into the back of the Bronco. Looks like I can sell it for at least $5-600.
Went to pick up dinner and went by a house that has been cutting trees down. Theyre mostly pine but I did stop last week and got a mystery tree (mimosa?) And some dogwood. Saw the light wood and thought thats not pine. Swung back around and saw it was a good size holly. Was in a rush to load because the wife said food would get cold
I split about a 6" diameter piece very easily. Tried the maul on a 14"+ round several times. It didnt do much of anything, just bounced off. Think I may need a splitter for these. That or a whole bunch of jack daniels and blue emu when Im done
