BL on CL Thanks to FHC!

I get a PM from sirbuildalot this morning about some black locust on Craig's List in Connecticut. Looked it up and one town over from me and less than five minutes from where i scrounged the hickory on Saturday. Being a stop and load scrounge, i contacted the guy and went late this afternoon. Tree service cutting not related to either recent storm. No saw with me, halved a couple and my hernia put to the test on a few others that were to gnarly to half. Thanks for the lead sir! The mania is REAL!
Only a few cut to correct length. Lots of noodling with this load...some gnarly grained chunks.

How many cord of BL would you venture to guess you’re up to Brad?

 

Today after i stacked yesterdays score. Todays wood probably wont be enough to fill this up.
End view of left stack. Top half is barkless. Each rack holds 1.5+ cord so maybe 2.5+ cord here.
This rack holds three cords...6'x16' actual...16" long splits. Triple tiered mostly dead barkless. The poorly stacked wood on top is honey locust that has been moved to another area leaving a partial void. Some of todays wood was dead barkless so it will added here.
I have another 1.5 cord stacked plus maybe a face cord of nuggets/shorts. So 7+ cord. These being tight cords as i call myself a "jigsaw puzzle" stacker.

A real shame when a hack butchers up prime wood like that.

 

It is, but still primo BTU's that will burn just fine in the stove.

 

What Brad hasn't told anyone yet is that he actually doesn't burn wood, and doesn't sell it either.....a true hoarder!

 

IT SURE IS!!! I bucked it all today to my length. Lots of shorties as a result. Probably the gnarliest BL ive ever processed in my short BL career.
The load of BL i cut Sunday i ended up with maybe six shorties. I get spoiled when cutting full trees.

 

As a homeowner it’s fine but as a seller it’s junk

 

What if you offered them at a discounted rate to get rid of them.

 

If I didn’t have so much wood to cut and split, that may be a possibility but then I think there’s too much work involved in firewood to give any discounts

 

Any OWB customers? I can't see any of those guys nitpicking what they get since their main concern is quantity.

 

One heck of a BL score Brad!

 

I get one or two of them from time to time but nothing steady. I burn the junk/uglies in my OWB but my point is, it's not profitable to deal with wood once it's been hacked.

 

Im starting to agree. Had this not been BL i wouldve left it.
