Thanks guys. And we do love the place. We have been so busy the last few months we have barely been able to use it and enjoy it while doing nothing. But that is changing.

I've been down working on the yard and big clean up job a lot, but not much relaxing time. We have managed to get down there and relax a little over the last week though. Each week it is getting a little better for time to relax. The wife and kids are out of school now so they are able to get a lot done around the house while they kick back a little and relax too. My wife is really enjoying her summer so far. (Elementary teacher.) Man, it takes a lot of patience and hard work to teach the little ones.

Our oldest teaches elementary students - Grade 4, 5 and 6. We joke a lot and say that we dropped her on her head when she was little and that's why she wanted to be a teacher. I work as a secretary in a high school and when you see the long hours and dedication teachers put into their jobs, you know it is not just another job for them but a vocation.

By the way, Gas - that is a big cabin. must be able to bunk down a few people in it. Porch and railings are looking good.

I'm going to add a little correction, that being ... for most of them it isn't another job ... there are more than just one or two that it is indeed just another job.

BTW my youngest is a teacher and saw that all first hand up close and personal when in school at all 7 schools and all levels when she was in school (which isn't going to end, classes in CT and Nova Scotia this summer).

Don't get me started on school administrators.

My wife was (is) a high school math teacher. She stopped teaching 9 years ago to stay home with our kids. She's home-schooling them now.

Home schooling your own is quite a challenge as well. A lot more flexibility but a lot of work.

Don't know how they do it these days! The nuns had it right with the yardsticks. No one acted up more than once.. Or twice for the real "smart" ones!

Have had good and bad teachers.
The BAD grade 8 algebra teacher noticed I was having problems came over and looked down at my work and exclaimed at the top of his voice "You Idiot". needless to say I never did too good at algebra.
The GOOD grade 9 shop teacher said, get passing grades in all subjects and you can build a go-cart in shop class. Did really good in grade nine good enough to skip grade 10.

Titan Chainsaw engine for power. It would do about 40 mph with no brakes so just do a 360 to stop!

Speaking of high school math teachers, a former employee of mine's wife gave up systems work to get a teaching degree in mathematics only to discover it was more important that she pass students that were not applying themselves so the school could win at sports, she said to hell with this and is now doing something else. Now someone is traveling way too close to the school administrators side of the mess. Tread lightly.
