Had to bite the bullet today.. And buy a new leaf blower. I usually dont get Stihl stuff... But i like there hand held blowers... They are priced right... And you can still adjust the carb . Price is right on these... BG55's ! Its funny what i look at now before i buy something. I didnt go with the Echo because of no carb adjustments. By the time I ran this new Stihl about 30 mins on and off... It was out of adjustments with the carb limiting caps. So off they came ! And looks like this choked up motor has some room for a lil muffler mod ! It will run way better with some help. I ususlly dont wait too long before i void the warranty on stuff
When I was looking for one I ended up with the husky 125b version and came with 2 tips. Full adjust carb on mine too. husky fuel lines were junk I will say that. Stihl had the better lines as I have worked on that one too. Blurry pic with splined H L
Now you got to get the gutter attachment if needed. Cats azz if you need or have to do that twice a year like me. I use the flared tip 99% of the time over the round one. Just pics of the old school husky blower trade in compared to my new one.
Nice Husqvarnas ! Ill definetly have to get some attachments for it. Sounds like a good time saver for sure ! I actually love the look of your old blower for some reason ! Im a sucker for old stuff i guess This new still only came with a straight pipe... So ill definetly need something
Thats a good price on the used one and new one ! Im replacing my old hand me down Stihl bg 61 av electronic ! It still runs great. But needs some work and a part i cant track down yet. So ill sell it after i hopefully find it
Just unscrew that spark arrestor (build into the exhaust outlet) and fatten up the H screw. Instant MM. That's what I did on my BG55. Screw it back in for warranty work. Sounds pretty BA for a small blower too.
Ill do that to the muffler ! I saw it had a bolt head around it... I said man .... Theres no way its that easy . As for the old stihl part number... I cant even figure out the part number... As the 2 closest dealers are newer and they dont sell solely saws . Ive got another good dealer a bit away. Havent made it there yet tho. The last part thats holding me up is a simple gas tank gromment where the fuel line comes in. Tried to rig and make one.. But it wont work properly. Ill take a pic.
Thanks Lukem ! Pulled this out.... Instant unclogged motor that has double the throttle response... Not even kidding guys. Sounds like this ....shoot. Havin trouble with vid. Ill keep tryin
HF is this it 4210 358 7200 says for 60 and 61 on mediacat. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Stihl-bg-60...348?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5b0268d3dc http://www.ebay.com/itm/11B-Stihl-bg-60-Blower-Rubber-Collar-4210-358-7200-/360768742705
Thanks C4f ! That looks like what i need ! Wasnt sure if it was a part shared by another. Thanks for saving me on this one.... Greatly appreciated !
Nice blower!! I'm still undecided. I want a backpack blower for the added power, but I like the ease of use, and compact size of the handhelds. Keep us updated! (Does the handheld unit use a new 4 mix engine?)
BG55 is a plain old two-stroke. BG56, 66 and 86 are Strato 2-strokes. No 4-mix for handhelds. I started out with just my BR600 for a few years. It's like swatting flys with a sledgehammer for just post-mowing clean-up. But it was fast, especially for my large paved driveway. Now that I have the SH86 (same as a BG86) the backpack sits until I need it for spring and fall clean-ups.
Regular 2 stroke indeed ! You cant beat the backpacks for power and speed. My back cant take the extra weight... So a nice lightweight handheld does the trick for my 5 minutes of driveway and sidwslk cleanup every week
I'm just a 2 stroke guy. Give me a 2 stroke blower and pole saw please. Seen to many 4 mix nixed in pics.
