Heard scratching a few weeks ago. It's when it was quite warm here. Today I finally have a Saturday off. I find this.

It's very tight up there. Thank goodness for small phones with cameras. Otherwise it would have been flashlight and mirror trick. I managed to get most of the wood shavings out. Here's my question. Some is stuck. Would you folks worry about what is still stuck?

It looks clean enough for me.

Looks clean enough but I'd worry more about sealing up their entry point

There isn't enough left there to cause a problem...maybe a little smoke smell, but even that would be unlikely, and only happen once or twice, if at all.

That's what I thought. More than likely the shavings have been in there since I had the stove installed 6 years ago. From what little I can see the little guy didn't chew on the rafters or roof sheeting.

I found it. Northside peak of the house. Very small opening. I wish the little guy would have spent it's time eating mosquitos. Fixing it is on my to-do list for the day.

Agreed. I might put up a bat house after I seal the entry point. I support anything that eats mosquitos.

I had a bird in the burn chamber of my oil boiler. I spent hours getting him out of there and then out of the garage just to have the cat jump on him and kill the bird. I should have stuck the cat in the boiler!:rofl: :rofl: :rofl: :rofl:

A few weeks ago during a power outage a bat flew in a door under a light that was on the genny. I was amazed by the speed and precision that it was flying around the house. Had several birds inside over the years and they crashed into everything but the bat was like a fighter jet zooming in and around.

I have had issues with bats getting in the shed. If it wasn't for the poop and rabies I wouldn't care but they come in and roost at the same spot and spend their time pooping out what they ate during the night. It creates a big mess.
