    That looks like Black Locust to me. Seasons quick and burns hot, plus its already cut up. I'd jump all over it!!! :thumbs:

    I was having a hard time discerning between Black Locust and Sassafras. Third pic was a winner. I’ve never seen Sassafras grow with so many lobes. Black Locust, my final answer.

    Thats the FHC spirit! :tree::popcorn: Pretty sure its BL, but Joe may be right as sassafras looks similar. I'm going with BL though.

    I think your right. Looked it up. One map shows Massachusetts and another goes as high as The top of Maine. Go after it.
     
  9. it is black locust i usually always try to get my hands on some and in my area there usually is a fair bit

    The good news is I showed up and all the wood was there

    the bad news there was a sign saying the wood had been spoken for. Dang!!

    Thats the most annoying thing. I bought a chain saw on CL last April. The listing stayed up for a few more weeks. I laughed. Other times, multiple emails, texts, calls and no response :hair:
