Wood Id, please

My neighbor is having a tree taken down, and offered the wood to me. I'll probably take it, and use it for shoulder season. But, it is not familiar to me.

What say you?

Other research leaves me of think it's not very good firewood. With all the oak I have, I'd probably still take it for shoulder wood.

It seems to be good for carving. Leads me to think it's a softer wood.

 

Katsura have opposite leaves. Those appear to be alternating? The bark looks like katsura though.

It may be a little-leaf linden.

That's a tough ID.

I’m familiar with Katsura and that id looks correct. Never cut one down, but I have pruned them. Dead limbs snap off easily.

 

Linden is a darker green and would probably have bracts.
