It felt good to be back outside in cooler temps, cutting and splitting.

I am glad that it was cool because this stuff takes your breath away.
Maybe I'll get some wood cut tomorrow.

Yes! Habaneros and Caribbean Reds and a few Green sweet peppers for filler.

That's a nice haul of pods you've got there. Mine did well this year too. I still have quite a few super-hots that are just about done ripening. I'm going to try my hand at making some fermented hot sauce this fall.

Time to dust this thread off.

I'm just about out of "inventory". So, off to my SIL's.

The stack I had cut a while ago

All loaded up. Two courses in there

I hope to get back there a couple of times next week.

seems to work the opposite way here. People swarm over the trunk then the tops are left for people if they want them:rofl:

Looks like a good time! Well thought out, too. How did you get your tension rope tied up in the tree?

That was left to the other 2 guys. I believe they threw a thinner cord up and got it close enough. Hauled up the bull rope and pulled it through a loop.

It's always fun dropping any tree into an open area.

Will you CS that right away or when a rack opens up?

The plan is that as racks become available, I'll be splitting.

I have room to do some splitting as opportunity presents itself.

I hope this snow doesn't hang around for long. Looks like a couple of inches here, so far.

I lost a few weeks of moving wood, back in September. I can't make that up with snow on the ground. This is wood for 2023-24. So, no real rush. Like others, I want the option to split on my schedule. It is what it is.
