Good day in the gardens today. First there was canning of green tomato relish, church, dug potatoes, and then preparing a few garlic beds.

    Good morning.

Nothing going on today, other than some grocery shopping.

I did move a wood rack up on the deck. yesterday. If motivated, I can start loading it up.

    Stay safe

Pulled all the plants, used my fork to open up the soil a bit, added one wheelbarrow load of compost to each 4X8' bed, raked it smooth then covered each bed with about an inch of grass clippings.

I like to get this done at least 3 weeks before planing to let things settle in and the worms to work through everything while leaving their castings.

Those apples look really nice! Zinnias do great this time of year. I think I will tuck some garlic into a bed as well, I have several heads from a farm stand.

Good morning everyone! We took my grandson to a playground yesterday. It wasn't crowded.
I think he would have fit through this millstone, but we didn't want to chance it. IMG_20200913_42753.jpg IMG_20200913_50392.jpg
His school has delayed opening (all online) because they haven't gotten their full shipment of Chromebooks. Not surprisingly, there's a nationwide shortage.
I will continue the laborious process of closing the pool today. Night time temps are well down into the 40's. More weeding today as well.
    Have a good Monday!

that is interesting about the grass clippings. Around here because of the high moisture count, I have always been worried that they would start growing and create more of a problem. I may try this next week.

Morning all. 5 days left until retirement! yesterday the Blue Jays won so it was a good game to watch. Got some bookkeeping done, watered the garden and that was about it. Not very motivated yesterday.
fog and smoke still hanging around this morning so no walking. It is supposed to clear out today.
    Everyone have a great day.

Missed this morning. Had some packing to start doing, then helped my cousin get his car to the body shop and then we drove to another town and he picked up his rental car from Enterprise. He bought us lunch, had a great visit with him. Got home, helped my hunny start washing the truck, then cut 2 yards. Starting the 2nd part of our anniversary trip early. We decided to go on up to Schuyler Virginia, Walton's Mountain Museum and store, then come back to NC for a few days. Might look up Eric VW on the way back. 7 HR drive up from the house. Praying for a safe trip and no crazies, will have to go thru a few big towns.

    Good morning, everyone.

With temps here in the 40's, I'm going to my SIL's this morning, to cut some of the red oak that was felled back in the spring. Hoping to also quarter some of the bigger rounds.

Good morning everyone! 42° here. Tis the season... IMG_20200915_40554.jpg
    Plenty for everyone.
Husband is going to Maine overnight to see one of his brothers. I will be carrying on with my projects. I hope to have the cover on the pool by the time he gets back.
Getting my flu shot today too. Not the shot I really want, but it's all they've got.
    Have a great day!

I'll be getting good my flue shot, but not until mid-October, as suggested by my primary care doctor.

    Morning all
Windy, smoky and foggy. Not a nice day to be outside much. Rain system wasn't strong enough to clear the smoke. It is here for a few more days.
Am I counting? You bet! 4 more days.
    Everyone have a great day.

    Good early morning.

Rolled over in bed, and was wide awake. So I got up.

I'm planning to bring a few loads of wood up to the deck this morning. The cooler temps each day tells me that it's early shoulder season. We've already had a couple of small morning fires. So, I might add well get ready for more.

I'm sure a nap will be in my near future.
