We stayed safe thank the Lord, structures were ok, almost lost the shed. My azz is tired though. Worked a 10 hour day, then spent 2.5 hours just typing the tree. The entire crown is almost done, removed smaller limbs, moved brush to the outside of the property, which the trail needed clearing there as well. So far, will continue Friday evening
Ol' man winter is just as bad Not too thrilled about tulip poplar, but it's going in the stacks. Oak limbs after the poplar is done, because it's blocking another key trail, a small maple and hickory. Dog tired right now.
I've been wanting to finish one of many oaks, and paint the house. At least the trail is open. Unbelievable how close this is to the processing area.
Glad the storm didn't do damage and gave you some wood to boot. It'll be right there when you get time... and, maybe a little rest first?
Tree service did emergency job for neighbor down the road that had the hickory land over their roof. $ 2500 bucks later, all taken care of. They had it finished this morning wife said. Incredibly fast. I think the more trees that come down, it makes the other ones vunerable to wind. That tree produced alot of shade. I only got about half way down the trails until there was large branches blocking the way.
Nice clean up job already... Glad there was not any damage to your house. That's a lot of wood you have there too. Decent shoulder wood and tulip splits like a dream. I don't use it for the fire pit any longer, because I find the smoke unpleasant.
