At the moment, I can only claim my 1966 PUG UTV. After I get a few projects done, it might be the C-51 Homelite if I can get it running.

    How about you?

I guess my Homelite C-5 from 1963. I do use my 89 year old dad to help with wood once and a while.

My oldest piece of wood gathering equipment would be my buzz saw. Built in Ballarat Victoria by E Day and son. It was purchased new by my grandfather when he was a young bloke. 2CC368DE-FCCF-4657-8268-898901FFC4E1.png
The best thing about it is the sound it makes when you put some good Aussie hard wood on it, It really sings.

Teamed up with my BMC Nuffield 460 tractor.

My wheelbarrow. It was given to my parents, used, shortly after they got married 55yrs ago It's at least 70 yrs old could easily be 100. The axle, tire and rim have been replaced but everying else is original, except the load in the picture IMG_0589.jpg
Some might says its not really firewood equipment but its the tool I use most.

An older peavey, handed down from my dad. I have no idea where/when he got it. He didn't cut wood.

My wife. She beats me by a year. Worst thing is she can move way better than I can.

I have a pair of wedges an old man gave me when I was probably 12 or 13 years old. They were old then. Dad cut off the curls before he let me start using them. I have had to do it once or twice since then. They are the ones I let my oldest grandson use, he loves splitting with the sledge and wedges.

Recently, comedian Ron White was talking about a time when a 90 year old Texas-German farmer showed him a plow that had a seat attached, so you didn’t need to walk behind the horses.
The man said when he laid eyes on it, he thought that everything which could be invented, now had been.

Hoarding wise it was my husbands splitting maul, from his grandfather. He broke the handle splitting in sub zero weather and we ended up buying him a new yellow and black core thing one, we could not locate a handle with a top that would fit the head and it was record bad winter (our wood was already very dry. It was awesome to hear his splitting, literally cracked apart). That wood handle was smooth and polished between his grandfather and him splitting all our wood by hand for 30 years. It was from the late 30's or early 40's. Rest in Peace Papa Hank.

like MikeInMa , a log mover. In fact I only started looking for one after working with his.
Found this one with the an old handle rotted into it. The company is still around and I bought a new handle and tip from them.
Reading PV company history, I think I placed this one in the 1920’s

Peavey is a huge manufacturer and has been for 100 plus years for logging tools. Nowadays here isn’t so much hand tool work but they keep on going. Snowe and nealley is another but they went out 30 years ago. Some other company bought the name and makes junk now.
