    I have a fondness for the old girl as we have history. Years ago I was a fireman and grass fire's where a common problem. It still runs and pumps like new. Built like a tank compared to the new mostly plastic ones they have now.

    Probably just some preservation work for now, give it a good run and cleaning then pickle it. Who knows if this riot crap continues it may get put to use. Brings back a lot of memories and sadness as a lot of the guys I worked it with have past on. I still have yet to restore and install on my pole the old town siren. Let alone I brought home 3 more sirens last Friday.
    I surely hope my afterlife lets me watch my kids trying to deal with my "treasures"

    My son pulling out of the public works last Friday. Told him to "drive slow ". I followed him with the tractor and he was a total nervous wreck when he pulled in.

    I’ve always wanted of those air raid/fire department sirens.

    when I was kid they were used for 3 things that I remember;
    Call the volunteers in
    Call out noon on Saturday, probably a test procedure
    And my favorite, announce no school on snow days.

    Ours used to be coded for volunteers and noon and 6 every day. Just no interest anymore.

    We probably would have gotten along fine. My dad was the same way.

    He has lots of treasures. Need to get up and help him get some on Craigslist and FBMP. Has a large double-sided Coke sign and bottle Pepsi dispenser, both in good condition cosmetics wise.

    Looks like some fun there.
    I've been kicking around the idea of building a ship horn just to mess with the neighbors in the valley...
    (There's no water ways within 100 miles of us)

    The small town just to the north of us still blows the noon whistle everyday
