Tesla could implode or be the next Amazon. Neither would surprise me.

This market is mystifying me. We just reduced our exposure yesterday. I am 62 years old and have been in stocks for many many years. It is going to be hard for us to get used to basically sitting on cash. Or burying it in the back yard.

Amazon market cap is 1.5T, Tesla is 2.8B.

Amazon trades at 150x earnings. Holy.

It could revolutionize energy the same way Amazon did with shopping.....or it could catch on fire.

At your age I’d really consider a retirement advisor- not a financial advisor there is a difference. Unless you’re really savvy and want to babysit your investment.
Think of it as an investment in yourself

I do have a financial advisor. That being said I call my own shots and he knows it. I am retired with a double pension and my wife retires in two years with a double pension. We are still 37% in stocks. When we were younger it was more like 80% to 90% stocks. It is quite hard for me to fathom that we are sitting on this much cash as we have always been ingrained to make money in the market one must STAY in the market. This position we are in might take a little time to get used to it.

Yes I know how fortunate we are that we each worked union jobs for many years. A lot of Americans don’t get a single pension let alone a double,,,

Looks like we recovered from the plandemic. The market is back and even better.
Now, whats next? Will the election kill the market by November?

I see economy having a hard time. A lot of small business could not handle months of zero revenues. It’s different companies growing though.

The market has likely already priced in the election BUT it still seems crazy high.

I rationalize the rally because we are printing money, so the markets go up. Can't rationalize it any other way.

We lost 6 months of what could have been growth by just now getting back to even. Plowed as much money into the market as I could when it was at the bottom, so I came out looking pretty good. It was nice that some quarterly dividends hit and reinvested in March too.

Lots of companies aren't going to survive this....others are having their best year ever.

Right now lots of companies (mine included, supply chain) are struggling because we can't get labor. We will literally take any warm body for $14/hour and still have close to 300 open positions. We are already telling customers we might not have adequate capacity...and our carriers are telling us they might not either.

Do your online Christmas shopping early this year. Inventory positions, especially on imports, is going to be challenged....as is available supply chain capacity. Q4 dependent businesses may have disappointing results come earnings.

Would one of you have a good resource or link to learn about crytocurrency? The selections to choose from are overwhelming and seems most I click on are about older stock prices. I've heard about bitcoin and recently hearing ripple and xrp. thanks.

Highly volatile up and down 10% in a day NOT something for a buy and hold investor

coin base pro is $3.50 for funding account and $3.50 per trade.. sort of like gambling on horse races or blackjack big returns a lot of volatility

    Anyone holding XRP?
I have been buying up XRP during this current dip and praying my ship comes in.
I'm in this for the long haul. No pump and dump. I will be looking to cash out in 2 years time. By that time I'm hoping to give up work and live a free life for the remainder of my time on this ball of iron and rock.

The XRP ledger will introduce a fork in December. The Flare network will be joining the blockchain and they will be air dropping their Spark tokens to all XRP holders. One Spark for one XRP. The market is low at the moment, but with the way the world is going I can see more and more investors joining the Crypto space. More investors means more liquidity which means higher long term gains.

    Bob :smoke:;)
