Tried my friends new .357 ruger match champion and his gp100 .22
Both excellent shooters the match champion is the most accurate .357 I've ever shot
The trigger on the .22 needs broke in but it's very accurate
I'm not the best revolver shooter but I did good with these. 20190203_123650.jpg

I retired 10 years ago and at that time I was the lead firearms instructor for the county.
But I see this and it makes me cringe....

More than once I'd have to break out the first aid kit and patch some slide tracks on the web of some Deputy's hand... It was a mistake seldom repeated.

This is what we drilled into their heads....

Maybe your semi auto rides higher in your hand and you have clearance, but if you're teaching others to shoot, try not to let them over lap their thumbs behind the pistol...

    Don't waste your breath
I told her repeatedly not to do that
    She's 56
I explained exactly what can happen.
She was completely safe in everything else I taught her
But if she refused to listen it's a lesson she'll have to learn.

Sometimes you have to learn the hard way. I've never gotten bit by a slide, but I can imagine it hurts pretty bad.

Thanks for this. I have many family member who conceal carry. I am not proficient with handguns at all. This picture helps!

Delighted to help out. I don't usually comment on weapons threads because everyone has there own likes and dislikes, and I won't get involved in a "which is better" thread. That's like a "which saw is better, a Husqvarna XXX or a Stihl XXX" thread.. lol

My son went to a local gun shop Friday evening fully expecting to buy a 6 shot Colt King Cobra in 357.
That is not what he came home with. Came home with an 8 shot Ruger Redhawk in 357.
We shot it Sunday with 38 specials only. It was great fun.

Doesn't look like that has a threaded barrel, correct?
I picked up a T/C Compass in .223/5.56 and had a condition inside the bore. Looks like threads inside the bore for the last .750", right with the external 1/2 x 28 threads.
I had some dealings with an aftermarket company I picked up replacement trigger springs from, they had the same condition with that bore diam. also.
I inspected multiple barrels at different locations, in various calibers. Seems the .22 bore was the only one that had that condition. Customer service with T/C was a waste of time. And their "gunsmiths" should be ignored, total rooks. Just so's ya know, rant over.

    The boy had 6 or 8 barrel's
    I don't recall seeing a threaded barrel.
It was the first time I'd seen these rifles
I'll tell him to check his carefully.
Are they out of spec or machined wrong?
His shot great with a good trigger.

Like I said it's been over 7 year's since I bought any or even looked at guns
Never needed anything just ammo occasionally.
It's bewildering what's at my local shops
    The polymer market rules
Sub compact and compacts made by everyone it seems.
    Companies I've never heard of.
    I shot a friend's canik tp9sa? I think it
    Was called last year
Amazingly accurate for like 350.00 or so he said.
I sold my taurus g3 when he picks it up might get a canik sc 9mm compact to try.
Revolvers are double what I used to pay.

Not sure why it occurred, maybe just on that run of barrels in that caliber, on that platform? Looked like a .225 x 200 tpi tap was run in it. I can only guess that a dirty pilot was used when it was being threaded. I haven't shot it yet, even after almost 2 years. Still deciding on my course of action. I'll probably just cut it back and re-crown it.
