    I have a couple of $20 saws...Craftsman/Poulan Pro though, not a Stihl...neither one needed anything other than a knowledgeable operator though...my cheapest Stihl was my MS290 at under $100, after replacing the coil. :saw:

    Everything is clean except the oil pump and coil.
    I want to put in the clutch driven adjustable oil pump as the case is machined for it. Anyone have any idea on the cost of a stihl kit #1121-007-1043 ? Or maybe aftermarket?

    I bumped into that earlier but it seems that the stihl number 1121-007-1043 is a "kit". It includes the pump, worm gear, bushing, washer and clutch drum. Other places are using the number for just the pump. It needs all of the parts above for the conversion. On ebay a place called "chainsaw conservation components" lists the kit but says out of stock, why it's still listed is beyond me. Not against aftermarket but I see them starting at $12 bucks. I don't want to buy crap. Haven't bothered my dealer yet as I then feel like crap if I go somewhere else. Maybe the grand huskihl will help set me straight.

    It's definitely being considered for a appointment withhuskihl but then the 661 is in the running......or maybe both.

    The non-adjustable one actually oils a little bit better than the adjustable. It still pumps a little bit of oil at an idle so when you start cutting there’s lots of oil on the chain. Most prefer to leave it in if it works fine

    Great, I'll leave it continuous then. Although the existing pump is plastic and I believe it is leaking so I'd like to replace it anyway. I'll just get the standard pump from my dealer. Thanks Kevin, you saved me some money.

    Well to be fair.....a while back I showed her a picture of the XS sticker and I said wanted one on my saw.
    With a puzzled look she says "then get a sticker".
