Last year we used most of the left half of the wood as well as some seasoned I had elsewhere (about 3.5 cords in all). When I finished the roof, I started loading the shed from the outside stacks of mostly Fir (still have about 5 cords outside). I stuffed it even up in between the rafters. Glad to have this task off my back. I will burn from the right hand half of the shed this year. I now have room for about 2.5 cords of new wood in the outside stacks. Hope to fill that spot with some hardwood like Madrone. Wif says I can go Salmon fishing, grouse hunting, mushroom hunting or cut more firewood now! fullshed20201.jpg fullshed20202.jpg fullshed20203.jpg

That’s a really nice woodshed metalcuttr . I like the way you’ve got that wood stacked in the front. So nice I’d hate to take a split from it. Haha!

It is indeed! This evening the Wif and I will probably go out and just soak in the satisfaction!
I know that feeling also. There is always a "Disturbance in the Force" when you take the first splits out of the stack!
Forgot highland lake fishing also. Probably a trip to the Sporting Goods store for hooks and jigs for Salmon and also hunting licenses. No telling which way I'll jump after that. So many options. I may have to drink something to calm myself!:hair:

Has it been wet enough for mushroom hunting? When the conditions are right, that should top the list!
Hope you can find some Madrone.

All the options sound appealing to me. You've earned some credits to have fun.

We had some rain a few days ago but I have not received news about chanterelles yet. Fall King Salmon have been starting to show in the South Puget Sound estuaries so I am kind of leaning that way. I actually had to turn down a call from a friend who had a standing dead Madrone fall into his yard a few days ago. My trailer was full of shingles from the woodshed and I was wood bound until I could load the shed. That impelled me to take the trailer to the dump and fill the shed. Now I am ready for emergency firewood missions!

Beautiful pictures Russ. You know I really love that shed, especially when it is full.

A neighbor down the street has said that he will be taking out 3 large Doug Firs, hopefully soon. Says they are mine If I want them. Till then I will scratch up anything I can, with an eye out for Madrone or maybe Cherry. Thanks for the comment on the shed.

Judging by the wood in the shed and the trees that surround it, crotches & uglies are a foreign species
