Tundra with a 6.5 ft bed and a 6*12 trailer with 4 ft side boards. 2600 pound rating on the trailer. I'm going to be hauling 90 miles! Bought some cut split seasoned 1 year wood but not sure how much I can take at a time.
Load the trailer to it's max. Personally I load my trailer more than it's max and there's been no issues so far. You just need to pay attention to tire pressure and others signs. Even the lowest capacity tundra can tow all that trailer's worth.
It’s not the truck that’s limiting Sure, I’ve Probably overloaded my 10,000# trailer by another 5000#. Short spurts. Grease the bearings and make sure the brakes are working. Load limits are mere suggestions until you get pulled over
I’d say 1 ft of stacked wood will be the max for that trailer. Or about a half a cord. Depending on species that would be 2000-3000 lbs

I’d think your Tundra should haul at least 8-9k. For a 90 mile trip one way it may be worth renting a heavy duty dump trailer from Home Depot. Like a 6x10 stacked 2 feet high. Could haul a full cord each trip and do 2 trips.
Had a call from a friend early this spring. Flat tire on his trailer, please help, and bring your trailer too Crazy guy wanted to save himself one 5 mile trip so he loaded three yards of soaking wet topsoil on an old single axle trailer. Got there and found out the entire story. Trailer had been there all night. Had his first flat tire a couple miles from the yard. AAA changed the tire for him and he had another half a mile from that spot. The inside of the fenders were slicing right through the tires Bent the axle till it was riding like one of those inner city cars. Oh boy. Four of us took turns shoveling that mud from his trailer to mine. Might have been one of the heaviest loads I’ve ever hauled.
What year is your Tundra? Big difference between pre 07 and the 07 on. Pulling 2600# with either is no problem.
And people wonder why buying used equipment of any type is a risky endeavor!!! Lightly used....new bearings and tires!!!
I genuinely believe some people are just clueless. They don't have a clue what the trailer is rated to carry. They see a trailer that is x amount of square feet, and think anything that fits on it is fine to haul. Whether it be leaves that are 10 lbs/cubic foot, or soil that is 100 lbs/cubic foot.
You find out who your "friends" are when you have a truck/trailer, have to move, or win the lottery. Ive had a single yard of wet topsoil in my F150 and that was heavy!
I’m done with the moving part It’s nice to be old. Friends are either nesting or moving long distances. No more apartment hopping Another story? Helped a female friend and her new boyfriend move. Never had met him. We both have trucks. He loads a few boxes and a glass coffee table into his. The rest of their apartment goes on mine to be topped off by a king size mattress tied down with an electrical cord. Sketchy at best. Looks like the Clampetts. Told the guy leading the way drive slow. Gets on the highway and hits 70+ in seconds. Watched his taillights going away, nighttime move. Then that mattress blew off just south of Hartford,,,,,on an overpass. Cars swerving around it. One went right over it. I’m bouncing around on the side of the highway trying not to get run over. Finally grabbed the bulk of it and tossed it over the bridge And they were unhappy with me. Last time I helped someone move. And I never had to meet that jerk a second time.
I’d be more willing to max my truck out than max my trailer out... especially since it’s 90 miles.. single axle... make sure to Carry spare tire, blocks of wood, and a Jack....
