I thought the same! Im not a big fan of "one handing" a saw as i dont have a lot of experience with it. My Husky 334 top handle i did some but after using it on the job i just did im liking it more and more. Just have to be mind full not to get lax with it. Using it again tomorrow at a score. You ever cut with one?

 

Have you used a 201? Just wondering how it compares. I’ve used a 150 and 201 but none in between.

 

Nope, never held one. But I’m sure they can be quite handy at times

I have not. I have an old Husky 334 that this replaced. Not something i use a lot but needed something reliable for when i do. Id like to get a 150 rear handle for limbing (ive been doing quite a bit with the recent storm). My 170 works okay for such, but would like a better quality saw. Is the 150 Still the lightest saw they make?

 

It’s super light compared to the 201 and easier on the hands and arms if you are trimming small limbs. It doesn’t have enough juice for the bigger stuff. For anyone that climbs, or works out of a bucket all day I’d highly recommend trying the 150. I started having elbow issues and the 150 doesn’t cause me any pain where the 201 aggravates the crap out of it.

Okay ,it’s not a whole saw , but it’ll be going on one of my saws after it’s modded for a full wrap Handle that’s on it’s way . It’s NOS . The guy asked 20 ,I gave him 25 .

 

You did great. I grabbed a NOS clutch cover/chain brake combo for my PM800 Feb 2019.$67 shipped to my door.My current one on the saw was almost perfect,none of the ribs broken (which is the case with 90% of ones you find) just some of the factory paint burned off by the muffler.That particular style is quite rare,figured price was reasonable to have for a spare if ever needed.Plus they fit the other 82cc Mac's from same late 70's-mid 80's era also like the PM805 & PM8200 (rarely seen) and the PM850 (more common but getting scarce now too) Havent checked if it fits my early-mid 70's Super Pro 80 & Super Pro 81 also,but it should if I ever get the crazy idea to put a chain brake on them...lol

 

Well, it gets better ... I went over looking for a Black cover for a PM700 ,a I decided the yellow cover looks really good on myPM555 that has a cracked cover . Came back with a whole PM 700 ,bar ,chain ,and all . Pics in the A.M. .

 

Well, it runs . It was nasty dirty. Even the chip screen was plugged with grease and dirt . Needs a muffler cover ,carb gone through ,fuel line ,handle has a crack by the choke lever ,but it won’t affect anything , oil tank cleaned pump cleaned and the bar needed the rails done and de rusted . Pretty good for free !

 

I ran a Mac ProMac 700 for years until ethanol killed it. It was a heavy, wood cutting beast of a machine.

 

Yup, I like them . They’ll take an enormous amount of abuse . Easy to work on . I don’t find them all that heavy for a 70 cc saw . The 10-10 at 53CC’s is maybe a bit portly. But they are all great for firewooding . Love the sound of them . Just put a full wrap on one of them ,and I am waiting for a 28” bar to arrive for one of them .

 

23 pounds PHO dry tanks.About 32 here with 30" rollernose bar,.404 skip chain & full tanks.But its pretty much unstoppable.

 

Pretty amazing how a 797, cp/sp 125 can make a 30ish inch bar look short .
