Difficult to see. Is it a vine that twists around itself?

If so, it could be bittersweet. I'd yank it outo by the roots. If all you do is cut it back, it'll sprout next year.

Not a vine MikeInMa. If you look at the first picture you can see the main trunk. One is about 4' tall and the other 5'.

The leaf and stem certainly look right. Yet I've found only one image with the bean on it. Still I think you are correct. I wonder how it happened to show up here?

Is that a public road, that gets mowed by the state, or contractors? Of so, the seed could have been moved in by the tractor/bush hog when they were mowing.

It's not by the road. We'll yank them out, or maybe Judy will have to do that. :D

Interesting, I never knew the name of the but we have a few swaths of it on our property. I think the bean looking things are the seed pods so you may want to destroy those if you don't want then around.

  11. now on the other ones youve seen do they have like a small bluish purple colored berry if so it could be autumn olive if not then im stumped

No. Definitely not autumn olive but we have lots of that stuff around here. And talk about an ugly stink when that stuff blossoms...

Backwoods Savage. It does look like hempdogbane. Roundup won't kill it unless you catch it when it first comes up and then only with maximum doasage. If you try and pull it, it leaves pieces of the root which will grow back next year. Very sticky white sap. The little bean pods produce seeds similar to milkweed. They are carried by the wind. Poisonous to animals that ingest it.
