That's a tough set of choices right there.......

Nothing more important to how the saw runs than top-end.

That's what makes this site so great though. Most people here just have one or two saws. And they don't even say XP, Magnum, Pro, etc on them :) A very eclectic range of individuals

But, there are a few of us that enjoy a saw with a little Xtra pee in them ;) I think

I think the OEM XPW will pull away from the pack...

    Even over a well-ported 50mm top end?

Since KRL wasn't going to port it I think the Xpw top end would be the winner myself. Ported it depends on what you want. For a long bar work saw I'd rather have the Xpw. For a short bar saw the 50mm top end is great.

Oh, if Terry ports a 50mm, it'll whip a stock XPW, but the XPW is OEM..
    Soooo....
It can just get worked over at a later date..

Most guys probably feel like this is voting for "Public Service Commissioner Place #3" - checking a box next to the name/sign you heard/saw the most

A few of is have had half a dozen or more of these also. I like the xpw for a work saw if you run a 28-32" bar on. The 50mm I like for a 24-28" bar. Both will have a little different attitude when ported. I don't have 3 tanks run time on stock ones though.

I agree with Mdavlee I've owned a few of each version and rebuilt many more. What I intended to do was build something that a guy reading/looking for his first 70cc class saw could get some if not all of his wishes fulfilled with one purchase. Without having to wait out the warrenty before making any modifications and essentially still have a brand new saw.

Additionally some folks may not have assembled the tools or acquired the know how to attempt this as a first experience.
