    Good morning.

I did get to split some red oak yesterday. I'll move and stack it today.

This is oakind that a friend delivered. It had been st his daughter 's, cut about 4yrs ago, left in a pile. Only covering were leaves. Bark fell off in pieces, fungus growing out of it.

Not so easy to split. But I got through most of it. Some crotches left.

    Stay safe
    Stay healthy

Good morning everyone! Back in the hole for me today, got to keep digging. I'm sieving out the roots and rocks, so it's slow going. I have 8 bags of manure to mix in once the digging is done.
There's free wood on Craigslist in town, but I'm not going to be distracted!

Absolutely pouring with rain here. No walking until it lets up - if it does. Mostly successful trip yesterday. After fixing the A/C in the truck, they were doing the alignment and test driving the truck. They heard another sound out of the A/C so they are keeping it until they get another part in. Dogs have clean teeth. I got the proper strip light for my sewing room and got it in stalled when I got home.

Chores today, mostly indoors. Everyone have a great day.

yes, it is hard work but so worth it when you have finished. I had to do that to my resuscitated garden. I have another garden that I should do it to as well. I tried to inspire myself by looking at spring bulbs online. I just have too many projects going now and Monday I am back to work.

    Progress so far... IMG_20200821_3161.jpg
There's still a strip on the right to dig up. Lots of old bulbs I'm salvaging. IMG_20200821_21422.jpg
Sorry you have to go back to work already!

We had a good day, sort of. Had to wait on the A/C guy this morning. Fan had quit working, he did some checking, found a loose wire, all for $114...guess I was too tired to see it last night.
Then we went and cut 2 yards after lunch. First yard had a BIG pecan limb broke loose, had to use the tractor to get it down. 5043.jpeg
Next house had a bunch of smaller pecan and oak limbs all over the yard, and the limb pile was already big, so we burned it. Got home from that, then we took tractor to son's house and plowed up his garden, getting ready for winter veggies.

So I stopped by the gas station after fishing yesterday. When I got out of my truck I noticed a lady smoking a cigarette while pumping gas. Two police officers were there watching her. All of a sudden her arm catches fire. She let go of the pump and starts shaking her arm making it worse. The cops run over with rags and smother the fire. Then they put her in hand cuffs and put her in the patrol car. I asked them what she did to get arrested. One of them said: “ well, she was waving a fire arm...”

Good Saturday morning. Got a good rain last night which broke the late summer heat. Starting a second round of canning tomato sauce this morning.
