^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ This answer buZZsaw BRAD, once you run a ported saw you'll never go back. huskihl did an 026 & 036 for me, & there is no comparison. The 036 will run with a stock 046! The 026 will run 16" 3/8 chain buried all day long & rip an 029/290 up.
Having owned one for nearly ten years i agree. Came with a 16" bar. Bought a 20" bar a couple years ago for it and was disappointed cutting larger wood.
X3...I got the 029 done first, because I only had the 362 left. After running the big bore 029/039 when we picked it up @ GTG in Michigan, I was blown away. You guessed it, the 362 was left behind, it has a XS in its name now.
Definitely not a 20" bar saw. Only ever ran 16"on mine. It's sitting on the bench now collecting dust. Waiting for it to become a collectable.
Stranger things have happened. I saw a not made anymore 031 for $500 and 042 antique for $700 just recently on marketplace.
Kev has ported a 462R a 461R and a version 2 261 with a standard carb for me. The guy is worth send a saw to, good gains. I have another 261 version 2 with the 3.0 m-tronic going to him in a few weeks.
fwiw a Stihl mechanic recently told me they are having trouble getting the 500 to meet US emission standards
They are here in very limited numbers. I have 4 sold already and have only been able to get 1 due to supply. Talk about a nice lightweight incredibly quick saw.....wow!
Well my dealer said WV is only getting 4. Like what?! Only 4 saws for whole state? But thankfully he got picked to get one and supposedly it shipped last week. We'll see. Im first on his list so hopefully i can get my hands on one this week
